Project: 836kWh Off-Grid BESS Empowers Remote Hot Spring Resort in Xinjiang, China

Case: Off-Grid Reliability in Extreme Environments: Solar-Storage-Diesel Solution for Sustainable Hospitality
Product:Pilot PL-EL-400kW/836kWh
Address:Xinjiang, China
A luxury hot spring hotel located in a remote scenic area of Xinjiang has successfully deployed Pilot’s 836kWh Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Positioned at an altitude of over 2,000 meters in a core zone without municipal grid coverage, the project faced severe environmental challenges: extreme winters (down to -30°C), dramatic diurnal temperature fluctuations (up to 20°C), and intense UV radiation. To meet the high standards of modern hospitality and carbon reduction, we implemented a sophisticated solar-storage-diesel hybrid microgrid system to ensure 24/7 stable power.
The project utilizes a 400kW/836kWh integrated BESS, featuring advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, the high-efficiency Tier 1 PCS, and an intelligent Energy Management System (EMS). The system operates on a "Solar-Priority" logic: PV energy is used for loads first, with surplus power stored in the BESS. During the night, the storage system discharges to power the hotel, while the diesel generator acts only as a backup to minimize fuel consumption. By utilizing the BESS as the master voltage source (AC-coupled), the system ensures a seamless and stable AC 220V/380V 50Hz output, significantly reducing the carbon footprint and operational costs associated with traditional diesel-only power.
Equipped with remote monitoring, the hotel management can access real-time data and historical performance through a web-based platform or mobile app. This intelligent scheduling not only guarantees an uninterrupted guest experience in one of the world's most demanding climates but also serves as a premium benchmark for green energy upgrades in the remote hospitality sector.
